2019: Classics Recommends Clarion Concerts

Classics on Hudson’s is completing its 2018/2019 Season with its Hudson Hall Family Concert and Music Mentors in May 2019 at the Hudson City School District Middle School. 

But the musical year holds more performances we eagerly share with you.  For music lovers looking for another, inspiring set of chamber concerts, we heartily recommend you check in with Clarion Concerts’ Leaf Peeper Series, directed by Eugenia Zukerman, for their Fall series of four performances in very special venues — Hudson Hall in Hudson and Saint James Place in Great Barrington.

  • September 15, Sunday 3 PM, Xavier Foley, a talented African American double-bassist and composer, winner of a 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant Award performs at Hudson Hall.
  • September 21, Saturday, 5 PM, The Manhattan Piano Trio a grand departure from the usual, the Manhattan Piano Trio is one of the most creative, exciting, and dynamic young ensembles in America. Now in its 15th season, MPT has been among the busiest groups in the classical music scene at Saint James Place.
  • October 12, Saturday, 5 PM Accordionist Hanzhi Wang Praised for engaging stage presence and performances that are technically and musically brilliant. She is the first accordionist to join the roster of Young Concert Artists in its 57 year history at Saint James Place.
  • October 26, Sunday, 7 PM, Hai Ting Chinn, American Mezzo-Soprano performs in a wide range of styles and venues, from Purcell to Pierrot Lunaire, Cherubino to the King & I, J.S. Bach to P.D.Q. Bach. She was featured in the revival od tour of Phillip Glass’s Einstein on the Beach at Hudson Hall.
